- Soldier Yevhen Savchuk (call sign Panda) was killed on November 26, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Vodiane in Donetsk region. The warrior was 31 years old. Yevhen was born in the village of Melnychne, Bilohirsk district in Crimea. But he lived in Kirovohrad region, in the village of Kompaniivka since childhood. He stuwas killed at the local school. Then he entered the Kirovohrad National Technical University, majoring in Computer Engineering. He got a job to pay for his studies and housing independently. He did not like to ask for help, always tried to achieve everything himself. After graduation, he worked in his specialty. He was a master of computer and mobile phone repair in a private company. He loved music and taught himself to play the guitar. He loved fishing and often went fishing with friends. On the fourth day of the full-scale Russian invasion, on February 27, 2022, Yevhen was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At first, he served in the 9th Rifle Battalion. He fought in Donetsk and Mykolaiv regions. In June, Yevhen, along with his comrades, was transferred to the 23rd Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion "Khortytsia" of the 56th Motorized Infantry Brigade. Two weeks later, he was appointed commander of the radio section of the platoon. "Most of the people who knew Zhenya will say unequivocally that he was a very good person. Before the conscription, he had never held a weapon in his hands. He never harmed anyone, always came to help, even when it was not to his advantage. At work, he did not chase money, spent his time on even small things to fix phones or computers. He knew how to work, knew a lot in life. I taught him something, he learned something himself. Many people found it difficult to accept the news of his death," said the father of the fallen Vitaliy. "An irreparable loss for our family. Rest in peace, nephew. The earth be soft. Heroes do not die. Eternal memory," wrote aunt Yulia Savchuk. "My comrade-in-arms was killed, young and talented, I will keep his songs to show the next generations how we fought for Ukraine," wrote Roman Oliinichenko. "There are no words from the unspeakable pain and grief... Always smiling, kind and sensitive... Zhenychku... Eternal memory... Glory to the Hero... Sincere condolences to the family," wrote acquaintance Svitlana Poltavets. The defender was buried in the village of Kompaniivka in Kirovohrad region.
