- Yevheniy Volodymyrovych Voytovych was born on December 26, 1999, in the village of Vychiivka, Zarichne district of Rivne region. In 2019, Yevheniy signed a contract to serve in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. On February 24, 2022, Chief Sergeant Yevheniy Voytovych, like thousands of border guards, bravely confronted the Russian aggressor. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, Yevheniy Voytovych, side by side with servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the special purpose unit "Azov" of the National Guard of Ukraine, valiantly and selflessly carried out combat missions in the "C" sector (PJSC "Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works") under conditions of complete blockade, heroically repelling round-the-clock enemy attacks. On March 30, 2022, during fierce street fighting in the center of Mariupol against a large number of enemy troops attempting to break into the city, Chief Sergeant Yevheniy Voytovych sustained multiple shrapnel wounds. Accompanied by his comrades, Yevheniy was taken to the military medical hospital in Mariupol. After recovering, the border guard returned to duty. On May 5, 2022, at 2:27 AM, a direct hit from an aerial bomb partially destroyed the border guards' shelter at the border unit command post. On May 10, 2022, Yevheniy Voytovych's body was found under the rubble. Due to the impossibility of preserving and transporting the body, the border guard was buried on the territory of "Azovstal." For personal bravery and selfless actions demonstrated in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as loyalty to military oath, Chief Sergeant Yevheniy Volodymyrovych Voytovych was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.Memory Book of the MIA System
