Yevhenii Ye. Vasylevskyi (Lysyi)

Yevheniy Yevheniyovych Vasylevskyi was born on April 21, 1975, in Dnipropetrovsk. From 1995 to 2000, he served under contract in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. On February 2, 2015, he was called up for mobilization to the 72nd Mechanized Brigade, with which he defended the city of Volnovakha in the Donetsk region. From 2016 to 2018, he continued his service under contract and defended the cities of Avdiivka, Mariupol, and the village of Troitske. Since 2021, he served under contract in the 92nd Mechanized Brigade. From the first day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he defended the approaches to Kharkiv. His unit was one of the first to meet the enemy on February 24, 2022, around 5:00 AM, when Russian occupiers began shelling Kharkiv. For two days without sleep and rest, but the enemy could not enter Kharkiv. He was killed on February 25, 2022, during an enemy shelling with BM-21 "Grad" in the Saltivka microdistrict of Kharkiv. He was buried in the Krasnopil Cemetery in Dnipro. At home, his wife, daughter, and son were waiting for him.
