Biography
Yevhen Yuriyovych Kozlov was born on August 9, 2002. Since 2021, he served as a machine gunner in the National Guard. During the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he served as a radio operator in the mortar battery of the 1st Battalion of the Rapid Reaction Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine "Rubizh". Together with his comrades-in-arms, Yevhen Kozlov held back the Russian advance in the area of the village of Troikhizbenka, Luhansk Oblast. He was the first to notice the enemy's column of equipment and destroyed two enemy tanks and about a dozen invaders with two RPG-7 shots. During the battle on March 3, 2022, he was taken prisoner, where he remained for about a month - he was released on April 2 during a prisoner exchange. In the summer of 2022, Yevhen Kozlov returned to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and defended the area around the city of Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk Oblast. At the end of the summer of 2022, as part of a unit, he held positions on the outskirts of the urban-type settlement of Zaitseve, Donetsk Oblast. On August 18, 2022, during one of the assaults on this position, Yevhen's unit destroyed 4 enemy tanks, 2 armored personnel carriers, 3 passenger cars, about 2 platoons of infantry, and did not allow the invaders to break through the defense line. Under the powerful pressure of the Russians, Yevhen Kozlov continued to transmit the coordinates of the enemy to his comrades-in-arms, until one of the shells exploded next to him. He was buried in the village of Nechaiane, Mykolaiv Raion, Mykolaiv Oblast.Burial place
