Yurii A. Burko

National Guard soldier Yuriy Burko was killed on August 16, 2023, during the assault on the landing near the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhia region. The warrior was forever 27 years old. Yuriy was born in the village of Dzyunkiv, Vinnytsia region. He studied at the Dzyunkiv secondary school. In 2016, he graduated from the Vinnytsia College of the National University of Food Technologies. In 2017-2018, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, holding the position of rifleman. In 2020-2021, he served in the National Police of Ukraine in Vinnytsia. Before the full-scale invasion, he worked abroad as a welder. On February 26, 2022, the man voluntarily went to defend his country from the Russian invaders. Yuriy joined the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He served in the 14th Operational Purpose Brigade named after Ivan Bohun. He held the position of senior machine gunner of the operational purpose platoon. "He was the kindest person, always helping everyone. May his memory always be in our hearts. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!" - said the deceased's sister Alina Korzh. The defender was buried in his native village. Yuriy is survived by his mother, brothers, and sisters.
