Yurii A. Novosad

Novosad Yurii Anatoliiovych was born on September 24, 1986, in the village of Menchychi, Volodymyr-Volynskyi district, Volyn region. After school, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He then studied at a vocational school, where he obtained the specialty of an electrician. He worked in his field at a poultry farm. He lived in the Katerynopil region of Cherkasy oblast. In 2014, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, he was called up for military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine through mobilization. He was a senior soldier, a senior rifleman of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians. He actively participated in the liberation of the Kyiv region and then defended the East of Ukraine. For his participation in the liberation of the village of Moshchun in the Kyiv region, he was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree. He was killed on August 3, 2022, during an artillery barrage in the Donetsk region. He was buried in the village of Lukivka in the Cherkasy region. He left behind a wife and two daughters.
