Yurii A. Roznalevych

Yuriy was born on August 6, 1988, in Kyiv. From 1995 to 2005, he studied at specialized school No. 304 in Kyiv. In 2005–2009, he received an education at the Kyiv International University in the Faculty of Journalism. In 2009, Yuriy voluntarily enlisted for mandatory military service in the 26th Berdychiv Artillery Brigade (military unit A-3091). He participated in the Revolution of Dignity. Being a Russian speaker, he fundamentally began to speak exclusively in Ukrainian. He worked as a coach and instructor at a sports club. On August 9, 2014, he was voluntarily mobilized into the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade. After two weeks of training at the Yavoriv training ground, on August 29, 2014, he arrived in the ATO zone with the battalion as part of the 2nd howitzer battery of the 80th Air Assault Brigade. From September to December 2014, he was assigned to carry out combat missions with the separate reconnaissance company of the 92nd Mechanized Brigade. He participated in the defense of the Luhansk TPP, in battles for the village of Stanytsia Luhanska and the city of Shchastia in the Luhansk region. On January 13, 2015, on the way from Stanytsia Luhanska to the village of Teple, an army truck "Ural" was blown up by a remote-controlled explosive device. Yuriy sustained severe injuries incompatible with life. He spent 6 days in a coma in the intensive care unit of the Kharkiv military hospital. He died on January 19, 2015, without regaining consciousness.
