Yurii B. Huk

Soldier Yuriy Huk was killed on May 9, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Pavlivka in Donetsk region. In June, the fighter would have turned 41 years old. Yuriy was originally from Lviv. He graduated from the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization at Lviv National University of Life and Environmental Sciences. He worked as a sales representative. He loved hiking in the mountains and cycling. He was passionate about music. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Yuriy took up the defense of his homeland in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a serviceman in the 68th Separate Jaeger Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush. "He is a Hero of Ukraine, he is the best..." wrote the wife of the fallen, Kateryna. The warrior was buried at the Mars Field of Lychakiv Cemetery in his hometown of Lviv. Yuriy is survived by his wife, daughter, relatives, and friends. Posthumously, soldier Yuriy Hук was awarded the Order of Courage of the 3rd degree.
