Yurii B. Hyriak

Sergeant Yuriy Hiryak was killed on November 14, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region. The fighter was 44 years old. Yuriy was born in the city of Stryi, Lviv region. He graduated from the Stryi Higher Vocational Art School No. 16 and obtained a qualification as a carpenter-painter. He was engaged in the production of church altars. In his free time, he loved spending time with his family. He was passionate about fishing. During the full-scale Russian invasion, he joined the Territorial Defense in Stryi. He became a fighter in the 65th Battalion of the 103rd Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "A loving father, a man of his word, the best dad, who left behind many happy memories. From the first days of the war, he returned from abroad and joined the ranks of the Territorial Defense. He participated in the liberation of Yampil," said the son of the fallen, Maksym. The warrior was buried at the Alley of Glory in his hometown. At home, Yuriy was awaited by his mother, brother, wife, son, and daughter.
