Yurii D. Aleksandrov

Sergeant Yuriy Aleksandrov was killed on April 22, 2022, near the village of Zarichne in the Donetsk region. The soldier sustained severe shrapnel wounds while repelling a Russian attack and was killed in the hospital. Yuriy was born in the city of Popasna in the Luhansk region. He worked as a trackman for the Popasna section of the regional branch of "Donetsk Railways." In recent years, he lived in the city of Severodonetsk. With the start of the Russo-Ukrainian war, he repeatedly participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and Joint Forces Operation (JFO). He served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, defending his homeland from the occupiers. On February 18, 2022, Yuriy celebrated his 46th birthday. Just six days later, a full-scale war began. He could not stand aside. As a squad commander, Sergeant Yuriy Aleksandrov, as part of the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade, went to the front lines to destroy the occupiers. But this time, it was for the last time. As his daughter Kateryna recounted, Yuriy always believed in and dreamed of a bright future for our country. That is why, without hesitation, he went to serve again. The hero was buried at the Jubilee Cemetery in the city of Dnipro. Yuriy is survived by his wife and daughter.
