Yurii F. Kushnirevskyi (Did)

Serviceman Yuriy Kushnirevskyi (call sign Ded) was killed on August 1, 2023, during the counteroffensive in the area of the village of Novodanilivka, Zaporizhzhia region. The defender would have turned 56 years old on August 28. Yuriy was born and lived his entire life in the city of Bohuslav, Kyiv region. He graduated from city school No. 3. Then he obtained the profession of an electrician at the Bohuslav vocational school. Throughout his life, he worked as a specialist at the local woolen factory PP "Yaroslav". He loved to spend time by the river, go fishing. He adored animals, the forest and sweets. With the start of the full-scale invasion, in March 2022, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to protect his native home from the enemy. He served in the 118th separate mechanized brigade, holding the position of driver-electrician. As part of his unit, he defended Kyiv, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Kharkiv and the Zaporizhzhia direction. "Thanks to him, we live. We miss and love our father, our now guardian angel. Father with a capital letter and with a big heart. Heroes do not die," wrote the daughters of the fallen Viktoriia and Inna. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in his hometown. At home, Yuriy was awaited by his father and two daughters. Posthumously, soldier Yuriy Kushnirevskyi was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
