Yurii H. Vysotskyi

Soldier Yurii Vysotskyi was killed on October 12, 2023 near the village of Malinivka in the Zaporizhia region. During the performance of a combat mission, he suffered a fatal explosive injury. The defender was 52 years old. Нurii was born in the village of Sestryatyn, Rivne region. After finishing school, he entered the Dubno Cultural and Educational College, where he obtained the specialty of a musician. After serving in the army, he worked in law enforcement agencies in the Dubno region. Upon retirement, Yurii did not sit idle and went to work for a construction crew. After the start of the full-scale invasion, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 23rd Engineer-Position Regiment, holding the position of camouflage engineer. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended the Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhia regions. For his service, the defender received a number of awards, including the President of Ukraine's "For the Defense of Ukraine" award and the Order of Courage of the III degree. "Yurii was a very good and honest person. He always supported and protected everyone. Despite being far from us, he tried to improve our mood and never spoke about anything sad. I love him for his kindness and respect for the opinions of others," his daughter Dariya said about her father. The defender was buried at the Radyvyliv City Cemetery. Yurii is survived by his wife and two children.
