Yurii I. Karabchuk

Soldier of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade, Carpathian Yuriy Karabchuk was killed in Donetsk region on May 26, 2022. The serviceman was born in the village of Holovy in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. He stu at the Ivano-Frankivsk Higher Vocational School No. 13. He was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he served in the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for 1.5 years. After service, he lived in the village of Holovy, Verkhovyna district. Yuriy Karabchuk returned to the army at the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. In March 2022, he defended the Kyiv region. Shortly before his death, he managed to go on vacation home. He hoped that after the victory he would start building a house, for which the wood had already been prepared. "He was a festive person. Always ready to help, ready for self-sacrifice, a loving son, husband, father, brother," recalls his sister Ivanka. The defender was buried in his native village. Yuriy left behind his parents, sister, wife and young daughter.
