- 28-year-old combat medic Yuriy Klymenko was killed on August 22, 2022, in Donetsk region. The man was injured during an enemy artillery shelling. Yuriy was born in the village of Chorniyanka in Kherson region. Later, together with his family, he moved to Chernihiv region, to the city of Pryluky, where he lived most of his life. He graduated from the local school No. 3, was a class leader, an activist, and engaged in sports. Yuriy has been a good, cheerful, and sociable person since childhood, and the soul of the company. After the start of the full-scale invasion, the man was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of combat medic in the 95th separate airmobile assault brigade. Together with the unit, he went to the front lines to save his comrades. On August 22, 2022, Russian occupiers shelled the positions of Ukrainian defenders near the city of Sloviansk, Donetsk region, with heavy artillery, tanks, and MLRS. Yuriy was on a combat mission there. The man received fatal shrapnel wounds during the enemy shelling. "I didn't know a kinder, more sociable, and friendly child in school. He is one of the best graduates of all the years of my school. He is an athlete, an invariable leader of our school events: the last bell, the graduation. Everyone turned to Yuriy for help, and he didn't refuse anyone. Cheerful, sociable, the soul of the company," said Vita Udovenko, a social pedagogue, a practical psychologist of school No. 3. The serviceman was buried in Pryluky, Chernihiv region. "There are many of us in the class, but Yura is our soul. War takes away the best, the most worthy sons of our country, and today, unfortunately, it happened with our Yura," said Marina, a classmate of the deceased, at the farewell. Yuriy left behind his parents and sister.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
