Yurii I. Kolodiazhnyi

Senior soldier Yurii Kolodiazhny died on March 6, 2022 in battle in the area of Huliaipole, Zaporizhzhia region. He received fatal injuries during the artillery shelling. The defender was 28 years old. Yurii was born in the village of Sosonka, Sumy region. After school, he studied at the Okhtyrka College of Sumy National Agrarian University, obtaining the qualification of an agricultural production technician-mechanic. In civilian life, he worked as a mechanic at oil and gas production facilities in NGVU "Okhtyrkanaftogaz". He loved an active lifestyle and had many friends. He was making plans for the future. During the full-scale invasion, the man joined the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought as part of the 81st separate airmobile brigade. "This was an incredibly kind, sincere and decent person. Yurchyk was the soul of the company. He was always able to help and support. Yura was like a brother to me," said Tetiana, the godmother and wife of the deceased's brother. The paratrooper was buried in his native village. He is survived by his parents and a brother with a family. Yurii Kolodiazhny was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
