Biography
Yuriy Mykolayovych Gulchuk was born on February 4, 1983, in the village of Ploske, Ostroh district, Rivne region, in a military family. He graduated from the Lviv Vocational School, served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He then continued his service in the army under contract. In February 2008, he began working as a repairman for the rolling stock of the Khrystynivka motor depot of the Odesa Railway regional branch. In 2014, he volunteered to fight, served as a scout in a reconnaissance company, and participated in the battles for Debaltseve, where he was wounded. For courage and bravery during combat missions, he was awarded the medal "Defender of the Fatherland" and the Order of Courage of the III degree. In 2019, he continued his service. On the first day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, February 24, 2022, the military unit where he served was shelled by the occupiers. Yuriy continued to serve in the 93rd separate mechanized brigade "Kholodny Yar", he was the commander of a rifle platoon. On June 16, 2022, during the performance of a combat mission in the Kharkiv region, Yuriy Gulchuk was blown up by an enemy mine. He died on June 19, 2022, from his injuries in a hospital in Kharkiv. He was buried in the village of Brodivskoye, Rivne district, Rivne region. He is survived by his wife, son, and mother.Burial place
