- 45-year-old grenade launcher Yuri Ilyin (call sign Uzbek) was killed on May 27, 2022, during shelling and enemy assault in the area of the village of Novoluhanske in Donetsk region. Yuri was from the city of Fastiv, Kyiv region. For a long time, he lived with his parents in Uzbekistan. He received the profession of a universal machine tool operator at the Fastiv Vocational Technical School. He was engaged in the manufacture and installation of doors. But the true calling in his life was cooking, and even though he never stuwas killed anywhere, Yuri cooked like an experienced chef, as his friends and comrades say, because he often treated them to his dishes. In 2013, he participated in the program "Master Chef". Yuri went to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine back in 2014. He took part in the ATO / JFO. During the full-scale war, as part of the 30th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Kostiantyn Ostrozky, Yuri was on the front lines from the first days and fought against Russian occupiers. "Our dad was known as a simple and open person. He worked hard and was always ready to help, even if he was in a difficult situation himself. He never taught anything he hadn't gone through himself. He always tried to live with all his might, as he thought necessary," said his daughter Anna. The soldier was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Polish cemetery in his native Fastiv. Yuri left behind his mother, three daughters, and two grandchildren. Yuri Ilyin was posthumously awarded the medal "Honorary Citizen of the city of Fastiv".Memory Platform 'Memorial'
