- Born on January 17, 1980, in the village of Yaroslavka, Bobrovytsia district, Chernihiv region. Graduated from the secondary school in the village of Yaroslavka, Bobrovytsia district, then from Vocational School No. 26 in Kyiv, obtaining the profession of "Electric Gas Welder." Served mandatory military service as a shooter in the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. On March 19, 2014, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 1st Separate Guards Tank Brigade of Novgorod, awarded the Orders of the Red Banner, Kutuzov, Bohdan Khmelnytsky, Alexander Nevsky, and the Red Star of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1815, the urban-type settlement of Honcharivske, Chernihiv district, Chernihiv region). From spring-summer 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On July 26, 2014, a column of Ukrainian military vehicles retreating from checkpoint No. 1 to Luhansk International Airport was ambushed by Russian-terrorist groups near the village of Krasne in the Krasnodon district (since 2016 - Sorokyn district) of Luhansk region. During the battle, soldier Koval, who was on an infantry fighting vehicle (board No. 726), was killed. Senior soldier Bruy also died in this battle. On August 2, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Yaroslavka, Bobrovytsia district. In May 2015, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the village of Yaroslavka, Bobrovytsia district, on the facade of the building of the general education school (Lenin Street, 39), where Yuriy Koval studied.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
