Yurii M. Marchenko

Yuriy Mykolayovych Marchenko was born on April 25, 1998, in the village of Pivtsi, Chernihiv Oblast. He studied at the Kharkiv National University of the Air Force named after Ivan Kozhedub, and after graduation, he served as an engineer of the automated control systems complex of the communications battalion of the 57th separate communications regiment of the Air Command "East." From May 2021, he held the position of head of communications of the 302nd anti-aircraft missile regiment. He was killed on February 24, 2022, while defending the sovereignty and integrity of Ukraine. For personal courage during combat missions, selfless actions demonstrated in the defense of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to the military oath, Yuriy Mykolayovych Marchenko was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
