- Junior Sergeant Yuriy Prymak (call sign Bars) was killed on May 14, 2023, from shrapnel wounds while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Orikhovo-Vasylivka in the Donetsk region. The warrior turned 51 years old in April. Yuriy was born in the village of Stodoly, Chernihiv region. In 1991, he graduated from the Nizhyn Technical School with a specialization in "Mechanization of Agriculture". He worked in his field of expertise. In 2004, he moved with his family to the town of Pokotyliv, Kharkiv region. For the last 19 years, he worked in a construction company in Kharkiv, holding the position of a crane mechanic. In his free time, he was engaged in metal detecting, numismatics, and sports training. With the start of the full-scale invasion, the man joined the ranks of the defenders. He served in the 226th separate battalion of the territorial defense of the 127th brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of the commander of a combat vehicle - the commander of a section. He was repeatedly commended by the command for the successful completion of combat missions. "My father was a person with an inner core, with strong-willed character traits. He was a leader, reliable and courageous, physically resilient. Therefore, of course, after the start of the full-scale invasion of the aggressor country, he could not sit still and went as a volunteer to defend his native land from the first days. He very much wanted our victory, wanted to live, bravely endured all the trials and never complained, but only said: 'Everything will be fine.' Unfortunately, on the morning of May 14, 2023, during another assault, his life was cut short... For the close ones, he was a sensitive, very sociable, and open person. For his family, he was the best father, son, husband, and Hero! We love him very much and will never forget him! Glory to all our Warrior-Heroes who gave their lives for us!" - said the deceased's daughter Yana. The defender was buried in the town of Pokotyliv, Kharkiv region. Yuriy is survived by his mother, wife, and two children.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
