Yurii M. Skladanyi

Serviceman Yuriy Skladanyi was killed on November 23, 2022 during enemy mortar shelling near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 54 years old. Yuriy was born in the village of Horobiyivka, Kyiv region. He graduated from the Kyiv National University of Food Technologies, obtained the qualification of a sugar production engineer-technologist. He worked in his specialty. He lived with his family in the capital. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Yuriy joined the territorial defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a platoon sergeant in the 106th separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces. "We lived 32 years in marriage. He was my sun. This year started so well! It was supposed to be happy, family and cozy - you came home and said that's it, you won't go anywhere else, enough of factories, business trips, trains and planes. He just wanted to live a quiet life. Be with the children and the grandson. Mow the lawn near the house, prune the garden, grill shashlik. We'll go fishing - we never had time for that. There were so many plans and dreams, because life was just beginning. A life for yourself and your family, not for sugar factories and their owners. How hard and painful this year is ending... That short, happy life has ended. Live every day! Don't put off your life for later! Because it may simply not be there anymore..." said the widow of the deceased Lyudmyla Skladana. "Yuriy Mykolayovych was valued by the command of the territorial defense battalion, his comrades deeply respected him. An irreparable loss for our unit," they wrote in Yuriy's unit. The defender was buried in the village of Marhaliuka, Kyiv region. At home, Yuriy was awaited by his wife Lyudmyla, daughters Natalia, Iryna and Sofiya, and grandson Mykola.
