Yurii M. Vynnyk

Senior soldier Yuriy Vynnyk was killed on December 20, 2022 in battle with the occupiers near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. In November, the defender turned 26 years old. Yuriy was born in the village of Yampil, Lviv region. Since August 2020, he held the position of roofer in the repair and construction department of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. He loved football, played for FC "Sokil" (village of Yampil) as part of the reserves in 2014-2015. With the start of the full-scale invasion, the man went to defend his native country. He joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, served in the 210th separate special battalion "Berlingo". "Yura was very brave and cheerful. He was not afraid of anything except losing the most precious - his loved ones. Therefore, without much thought, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He voluntarily decided to go to the Bakhmut direction to protect all of us. Yura was that friend who is with you to the end, that friend who will always support and help. It's hard to believe that you're no longer here. We were very worried about you when you said you would be going to Bakhmut. You reassured us, said everything would be fine and that you would be back soon," wrote the deceased's friend Anna. The defender was buried in his native village. At home, Yuriy was awaited by his grandmother, mother, stepfather, sister, two brothers, relatives and friends.
