Yurii O. Boiko (Voron)

Yuriy Olegovych Boyko was born on May 29, 2001, in the village of Promin, Bashtanka district, Mykolaiv region. Yuriy's father is a serviceman and a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. Yuriy Boyko studied at Prominsky Lyceum. He graduated from a higher vocational and commercial school. He engaged in sports, playing football for a team in Kherson and FC "Promin." He enrolled at Mykolaiv National University of Food Technologies but did not complete it. In February 2020, he signed a contract with the National Guard of Ukraine. He served and lived in Dnipro. In 2023, Yuriy decided to transfer to the 4th Operational Brigade "Rubizh," in which he bravely defended Ukraine in battles against invaders. Yuriy Boyko was killed while defending his homeland on September 29, 2023, near the village of Spirne in the Bakhmut district of Donetsk region. His name and bravery will always be an example for others. Yuriy was optimistic, sociable, and cheerful. This is how he will be remembered. He was the only wonderful, brave son, brother, friend, and comrade whom everyone loved. For personal courage and selfless actions demonstrated in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and for loyalty to the military oath, Yuriy Olegovych Boyko was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree. Yuriy Boyko was buried in his native village in Mykolaiv region.
