Yurii O. Kovalchuk

Kovalchuk Yurii Oleksandrovych was born on May 15, 1998, in the city of Kovel, Volyn region. He studied at Kovel Secondary School No. 1. He graduated from Kovel Industrial and Economic College with a degree in "Automotive Transport". In March 2018, he signed a 3-year contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade. Participant of the Joint Forces Operation. In 2021, he was demobilized and signed a contract for the same term again. He again served as part of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade. During the large-scale Russian invasion, he took part in combat operations near Kyiv, near the cities of Chernihiv and Izium in the Kharkiv region. He was killed on May 23, 2022, near the town of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region. He was buried in the Alley of Heroes in his hometown.
