Yurii O. Pidan (Rosomakha)

Soldier Yuriy Pidan (call sign Rosomaha) was killed on January 16, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Stepne in the Donetsk region. The warrior turned 34 years old on December 31. Yuriy was born in the village of Dovhenke, Kharkiv region. Since 2013, he lived with his family in Kharkiv. He was a construction worker by profession. He worked for himself and had his own team. He dedicated his free time to his family and loved ones. During the full-scale invasion, the man joined the ranks of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 79th separate airborne assault brigade. He was an artilleryman. Together with his comrades, he defended the Donetsk region. "The best father and loyal friend," said the deceased's son Oleksandr. Yuriy was buried in the Alley of Glory cemetery in Izium. At home, his wife and son were waiting for him. The paratrooper was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
