- Sergeant Yuriy Borukh (call sign Relative) was killed on May 31, 2023 near the village of Dibrova in the Luhansk region. The soldier sustained fatal injuries during enemy shelling of the position where he was on a combat mission. The defender was 44 years old. Yuriy was born and lived in Stebnik, Lviv region. He studied at secondary school No. 6 there. Then he graduated from the Zolochiv vocational school, obtaining the profession of a carpenter-carver. In 1998, he served his conscription. After that, he worked in his profession for some time. Most of his life, he worked in construction and went abroad to earn money. He was interested in football and had a passion for the history of Ukraine, owning many history books. The man showed an active patriotic position even during the enemy's attempts to capture the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in 2014. Then Yuriy went to fight in the ATO. He was wounded near Zelenpillia in the Donetsk region. On February 24, 2022, as soon as the full-scale invasion began, Yuriy again stood up to defend Ukraine. He served in the ranks of the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was the commander of a mechanized platoon - the commander of a combat vehicle. "He was always cheerful, cheerful, and at any moment he could come to help without hesitation. He tried to help everyone. He was a faithful friend, a good son, a wonderful brother, a loving husband and the best father. For our family, he is a great Hero, an example of courage and bravery, love for his country and family," said the fallen warrior's nephew Rostyslav. The military was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the cemetery in his hometown. Yuriy left behind his mother, sister, wife, two children, and other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
