Yurii P. Dolesko

Yuriy Petrovych Dolesko was born on February 8, 1980, in Chernihiv. In 1997, he graduated from Chernihiv Secondary School. Senior soldier Yuriy Dolesko was called up to the ranks of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine during mobilization. Since the beginning of his military service as part of a consolidated unit of the 3rd Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the serviceman fought honorably and bravely for the independence and territorial integrity of his homeland. In June 2022, Yuriy Dolesko participated in battles for the cities of Severodonetsk and Lysychansk in the Luhansk region. To seize Ukrainian territories, Russian troops intensified artillery and airstrikes. On June 12, 2022, in the area of the village of Metiolkine in the Luhansk region, the enemy attempted to conduct assault operations, and fierce battles ensued. The opponent used mortars, artillery, and multiple launch rocket systems. In the combat confrontation, Senior Soldier Yuriy Dolesko sustained injuries incompatible with life, and the serviceman's body remained on the battlefield. According to the court's decision recognizing the fact of death, the Civil Registry Office of Chernihiv issued a death certificate for Senior Soldier Yuriy Dolesko. For personal courage and selfless actions demonstrated in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to his military oath, Senior Soldier Yuriy Petrovych Dolesko was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III degree.
