Yurii P. Holovchenko

Yuriy Holovchenko, a soldier, was killed on January 2, 2023, in a gunfight with the enemy while defending the city of Soledar in the Donetsk region. The defender was 55 years old. Yuriy was born in the village of Olhivka, Kirovohrad region. He graduated from Novhorodkivske Vocational School No. 36. He was married and lived with his family in Kropyvnytskyi. He worked at the Dnipro-Kirovohrad regional communal production enterprise. He was very fond of cycling, which he practiced in his free time. On February 25, 2022, Yuriy was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He became a fighter of the 61st Separate Mechanized Steppe Brigade. He participated in the liberation of the Kherson region and battles in the Donetsk region. "Dad was a sincere Ukrainian, spoke only Ukrainian. He loved his family very much. He was a cyclist. He had a lot of friends," said the deceased's daughter, Tetiana. "During his entire work at the enterprise, he was very responsible in his duties. For his colleagues, he was a true friend and advisor. Eternal memory to the Hero!" - his colleagues noted. The military was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Far Eastern Cemetery in Kropyvnytskyi. Yuriy is survived by his wife Tetiana, daughters Tetiana and Oksana, and grandchildren.
