Yurii P. Pydiak

Soldier Yurii Pydiak was killed in action on June 26, 2022, in the area of the village of Verkhnokamyanske, Bakhmut district, Donetsk region. While performing a combat mission, he came under mortar fire and received fatal injuries. The defender was 36 years old. Yurii Pydiak was born and lived in the city of Pyriatyn, Poltava region. He graduated from Pyriatyn Lyceum. Then he stu at the vocational school No. 53 in the village of Voynykha, where he received the profession of a tractor driver-mechanic. After completing his studies, he served in the army. In civilian life, he worked as a driver at the sanitary and epidemiological station, and then at the PJSC "PKZ-Agro". In June 2020, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 43rd separate artillery brigade. He held the position of driver of the guard of the 209th separate anti-tank division. "Yura was brave, fair, and not afraid to perform combat missions in hot spots. He went to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a volunteer. For us, this is a great loss," his sister Iryna said. The warrior was buried in his hometown. The defender left behind his parents, wife, son, and sister. Posthumously, Yurii was awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the Pyriatyn Community".
