Yurii R. Kravchenko (Staryi)

Serviceman Yuriy Kravchenko (call sign Old) was killed on December 28, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in the Kostiantynivka area in Donetsk region. On November 4, the defender turned 50 years old. Yuriy was from the village of Liubashivka, Odesa region. He obtained secondary education. In civilian life, he worked as a driver. He was fond of fishing. He devoted his free time to his family. Since May 2017, he has been participating in the Anti-Terrorist Operation / Joint Forces Operation. Later, he returned to peaceful life. With the start of the full-scale war, the man went again to defend his country from the occupiers. On February 26, 2022, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of senior rifleman in the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he took part in the liberation of Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, and then their unit was transferred to defend the Bakhmut district of Donetsk region. "He loved his family. He was a hospitable host. He loved and was loved. He had two children. He was a good, hardworking person of a cheerful disposition. He worked, had many plans, but it was not destined... In the summer of 2022, he was wounded in the Kherson region, but even without fully recovering, he returned to his comrades-in-arms again. "I can't do otherwise, my sister, you will understand," he told me. My brother was a support for both the family and friends. Now we have just become orphans," said the deceased's sister Natalia Myroniuk. Yuriy was buried in the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in his native Liubashivka. At home, his sister, civil wife, son, daughter, and grandson were waiting for him.
