Yurii S. Bashynskyi

Soldier Yurii Bashynskyi was killed on March 10, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Zakharivka in the Kyiv region. The warrior was 24 years old. Yurii was born in the Zhytomyr region. He graduated from Nemishaiiv Professional College. A patriotically minded young man, after completing his studies, decided to enlist in military service under a contract. He dreamed above all that his native Ukraine would be free. During the full-scale war, he defended his homeland as part of the 108th battalion of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade. He held the position of a scout. From the first days of the invasion, he, along with his comrades, stood to defend the capital and the region. “Yurchik was a true patriot of our country. A young man who could work in the civilian sector. But he chose military service under a contract,” said the uncle of the fallen, Serhii. “It's hard to find words of comfort when the heart of a defender of Ukraine stops beating. It's hard to find words that could lessen the soul's pain from the loss of a loved one... We share this pain with the family and support you in this hour of sorrow. The memory of the hero will forever remain in our hearts!” stated the Ovruch City Council. The serviceman was buried in the village of Sholomky in the Zhytomyr region. Yurii is survived by his mother, sister, and brother.
