Biography
Horovets Yurii Serhiiovych (callsign Sviatosha) was born on June 14, 1988 in Dnipropetrovsk. He was the only child of his parents. In 2009-2014, he studied at the National Mining University in Dnipropetrovsk, majoring in Management. Since 2011, he has been a member of the All-Ukrainian Union "Svoboda". In the local elections on October 25, 2015, he ran as a majoritarian candidate from the All-Ukrainian Union "Svoboda" for the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council and the Dnipro City Council of the 7th convocation, but was not elected. He supported the actions of the All-Ukrainian Public Organization "Don't Be Indifferent!". Since the fall of 2013, he has been a participant in the Revolution of Dignity, joining the protest actions on Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv in early December. During his studies, he worked as an economist at the Kino Systema company in Dnipro, and later as a PR manager at the Amway company. Since 2014, he has been a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation, fighting in Ilovaisk, in the Horlivka direction, defending the cities of Mariupol and Bakhmut. From November 2015 to April 2016, he served in the Department for Combating Drug Crimes of the National Police of Ukraine in Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk Oblast. In May 2016, he moved to Kyiv. From August 2016 to February 2017, he was the editor of the news department of the online publication "Informator". A long-time participant in Dmytro Korchynskyi's community "Brotherhood". Since February 2017, he has been collaborating with the YouTube channel "Worldwide Brovary Television". He was killed on December 25, 2022 while carrying out a combat mission in the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation, along with his comrades-in-arms. According to preliminary information, the group was killed when their vehicle hit a minefield during movement. According to other information, the group was killed in battle. According to the Main Intelligence Directorate: "Nepyipyvo, Sviatosha, Tarasii and Apollon refused to surrender to Russian troops, took up a circular defense and heroically accepted the last battle on December 25, 2022." On February 22, 2023, the Brotherhood battalion reported the return of the bodies of four fighters who were killed on enemy territory. On March 7, 2023, a funeral service was held for the fallen in the Mykhailivskyi Zolotoverkhyi Cathedral in Kyiv, followed by a farewell on Maidan Nezalezhnosti. Yurii Horovets was buried at the Baikove Cemetery.Military service
