Yurii S. Savanchuk (Sava)

Sergeant Yuriy Savanchuk (call sign Sava) was killed on February 7, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. The defender was 31 years old. Yuriy was born in the village of Sviridy, Khmilnytskyi region, but grew up in the village of Antoniny. He graduated from school there. He then obtained the profession of a logistician and a car repair master at the Technical Professional College of Ternopil Ivan Puluj University. He served in the military. He worked as a construction worker in Poland, and until 2023 - at the Dovira agricultural enterprise in the village of Kremenchuki. In his free time, he loved fishing. In August 2023, the man was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a rifleman-medic in the 33rd separate mechanized brigade. "Sincere, friendly, kind, cheerful, hardworking, he loved life very much," - this is how his mother Svitlana Andriivna described the deceased. Yuriy was buried in the village of Antoniny, Khmilnytskyi region. He is survived by his parents and a younger brother.
