Yurii S. Zdorenko (Mályi)

35-year-old soldier Yuriy Zdorenko (call sign Malyi) was killed on December 5, 2023 near the settlement of Yampil in the Donetsk region. He sustained fatal injuries during an artillery barrage. Yuriy was born in the village of Volodymyrivka, Dnipropetrovsk region. In 2016, he graduated from the Arkhangelsk Vocational Agricultural Lyceum, where he obtained the qualifications of a mechanic and driver. He lived in Kryvyi Rih. In civilian life, he worked as a foreman at the LLC "Pal-Mir". He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and playing sports. During the full-scale invasion, the man fought for his country in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He held the position of grenade launcher assistant in the 1st Presidential Brigade of Operational Designation "Bureviy". "Yura was a wonderful person, a great husband and dad. Family was always his top priority. He was always cheerful and smiling. He had many friends and was ready to help them. We had many dreams and plans for the future that will never come true now. I love and miss my husband infinitely, and our son misses his dad," his wife Olha said. Yuriy was buried in the village of Volodymyrivka, Dnipropetrovsk region. He is survived by his parents, wife, son, and sister. The soldier was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree and the Badge "For Merit to the City" of the III degree.
