Yurii T. Halaburda (Maister)

Sergeant Yuriy Halaburda (call sign Master) took his last battle on June 16, 2023 near the village of Pyatihatky, Zaporizhzhia region. He sustained fatal injuries as a result of a direct hit by an enemy shell. The warrior was forever 50 years old. Yuriy was born in the village of Mizoch, Rivne region. He graduated from Lutsk Pedagogical Institute, where he received the profession of a physical education teacher. He worked in his specialty at Rivne School No. 11. He was active in socio-political work, was a member of the All-Ukrainian Union "Svoboda". He was engaged in tourism, climbed Hoverla. The man was a veteran of the ATO, since 2015 he has undergone three rotations. He was a scout, and then headed the unit. There he received the rank of sergeant. After being discharged, he returned to civilian life. But in the first days of the full-scale war, he again took up arms. Yuriy served in the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a squad commander, a combat vehicle commander. During his entire period of service, the military received awards "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation", "Participant of the ATO", "Participant of Combat Operations", "War Veteran", "Defender of the Homeland". "Yura was always a kind, honest and generous person. His comrades-in-arms respected him. A loving father, husband, son and brother. He was killed a hero, defending the Motherland. He will always be in our hearts and our memory," his sister Inna said. The warrior was buried in his native village of Mizoch. At home, Yuriy was awaited by his mother, wife, daughter, sisters and nephews.
