Yurii V. Butrym

36-year-old defender Yuriy Butrym (call sign Baton) was killed on March 27, 2024 near the village of Orlivka in the Donetsk region. During enemy shelling, the warrior received a fatal shrapnel wound. Yuriy was born in the city of Poltava. He studied at the Tereshkivska secondary school, after which he entered a technical school, but did not finish his studies and went to work. He worked in construction for a long time. He was a specialist in his field. During the full-scale war, he took up the defense of the Motherland as part of the 3rd separate assault brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. He held the positions of driver and shooter - grenade launcher assistant. "He was the best husband and father, kind and caring, fair. Whatever he took on, he always saw it through to the end," said his wife Tetyana. The defender was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the Zaturynskyi cemetery in Poltava. At home, his wife and daughter were waiting for Yuriy.
