Yurii V. Chemerys

Senior soldier Yuriy Chemerys was killed on December 21, 2022, while performing a combat mission in the area of the village of Druzhba in the Donetsk region. Exactly a month before that, the defender turned 51 years old. Yuriy was born and lived in the city of Lozova, Kharkiv region. He studied at the local secondary school No. 2. He worked as a security guard at the Polish Embassy in Kharkiv. He was the founder of the very first real estate agency "Scorpion" in his hometown. He was engaged in various sports and took an active part in the public life of the city. In 2014, he volunteered for the ATO, fought as part of the 43rd battalion "Patriot". Later, he became one of the founders and members of the board of the NGO "Lozivska Union of ATO Veterans", directing all his efforts to support the members of the organization and their families. With the start of the full-scale war, the man again took up the defense of his country, joining the local TRO. Yuriy held the position of senior rifleman of the 113th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "You were a father, brother, friend... You were the closest person. You were protection, support, a "cocoon" that hid us from all pains and troubles... You were the brightest, kindest, the best of all we knew... Our angel, we love you forever," wrote his relatives Lyla and Alisa. Yuriy was buried in the central cemetery of his hometown. A loving family was waiting for him at home. The warrior was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
