Yurii V. Holinei

Soldier Yurii Holinei was killed on October 24, 2022, in a gun battle during an assault on the enemy in the area of the village of Bilohorivka in Donetsk region. The warrior was 28 years old. Yurii was born in the town of Lanchyn in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. He graduated from Lanchyn Gymnasium. He worked in the construction sector in his hometown. In his free time, he loved fishing, a hobby he had enjoyed since childhood. In 2017, he served in the military. He decided to sign a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since 2019, he had been carrying out combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation near Mariupol in Donetsk region, for which he received the status of combatant and the "War Veteran" badge. During the full-scale war, Yurii defended Ukraine as part of the 8th Separate Mountain Assault Battalion of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade. He held the position of deputy commander of the combat vehicle and gunner-operator. "Yura was extremely sincere and honest, always fighting for the truth. He was also a very good son, brother, and uncle," said the deceased's sister, Marina. The serviceman was buried in his hometown of Lanchyn. At home, his father, sister, and two nieces were waiting for Yurii.
