Yurii V. Khasenko

Senior soldier Yuriy Khasenko was killed on August 26, 2022, during an attack by a sabotage and reconnaissance group on a stronghold of Ukrainian defenders near the village of Zaitseve, Donetsk region. The defender was 40 years old. Yuriy was born in the village of Maiske, Dnipropetrovsk region. In 1999, he graduated from Maiske Secondary School. He worked as a mechanic. He had a family with whom he loved to spend his free time. He had many plans and dreams for life. During the full-scale war, Yuriy joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to resist Russian occupiers and liberate Ukrainian lands. He served in the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. He held the position of senior shooter. He responsibly and courageously performed combat tasks on the front line, was a reliable comrade for his comrades-in-arms. "Yura was a good person, for us, relatives, he was the whole world. He was remembered as such: smiling, cheerful, reliable, friendly, one who loved life. We all miss him... But he will remain alive in our hearts forever. He was a reliable support for his mother, me, and his daughter," said Anastasia, the wife of the deceased soldier. The soldier was buried in his native village. At home, Yuriy was waiting for his mother, wife, and daughter.
