Yurii V. Kutumov

Soldier Yurii Kutumov was killed in action on May 7, 2022, near the village of Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. While providing assistance to an injured comrade, he himself was wounded during enemy artillery shelling. The injuries proved fatal. On June 8, the warrior would have turned 39 years old. Yurii was born and lived in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region. He stu at Gymnasium No. 43. He then graduated from Kryvyi Rih Regional Music College and Vocational School No. 14. In civilian life, he worked at the Central Mining and Processing Plant, and before the invasion, he was an installer of plastic windows at the company "VIKNA VIKONDA." While working, he participated in Spartakiads. He was passionate about rock music and loved reading science fiction books. On February 24, 2022, he went to the military enlistment office and later joined the ranks of defenders. He held the position of a shooter in military unit 3011 of the National Guard of Ukraine. After training, he fought in the Donetsk region. "Yurii was a loving son, a brave and at the same time caring brother, and the best friend," noted the deceased's sister, Kateryna Martynenko. The National Guardsman was buried at the Kramatorsk cemetery in his hometown. He is survived by his parents, son, sisters, friends, and comrades. Posthumously, Yurii Kutumov was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
