Yurii V. Luchyn

Junior Sergeant Yurii Luchyn was killed on May 31, 2022, while performing a combat mission in Donbas. Near the city of Pokrovsk, the fighter's life was cut short by enemy artillery fire. The defender was 43 years old. Yurii was born in the city of Nadvirna, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He stuwas killed at the local school No. 1. He received the profession of a carpenter at the Nadvirna Professional Technical School. By profession, he never worked, but he was hardworking and knew how to do many things. In general, he worked abroad. In his free time, he loved to walk with his son. He enjoyed walking in the rain. During the full-scale war, Yurii defended Ukraine as part of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade. He served in the fire support company of the 109th battalion. A brave warrior, a bold man, and a loving father who gave his life for all of us. I express my sincere condolences to the relatives, we bow our heads in deep sorrow, we share the pain of irreparable loss. Eternal honor and glory to the hero, said Nadvirna Mayor Zinovii Andriiovych. He was the best man, the best father, and the best in everything. I cannot come to terms with the loss of a loved one. He always said: We must be here so that they are not there. It's hard to believe that he will no longer be with us, said the wife of the deceased fighter. The defender was buried on the Alley of Glory in his hometown. Yurii left behind his wife Natalia and son Konstantin. Posthumously, Junior Sergeant Yurii Luchyn was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
