Yurii V. Mosiichuk

Serviceman Yuriy Mosiychuk died on May 18, 2023 in a hospital in Lviv from severe injuries sustained in battle with the enemy in the area of Vodiane, Donetsk region. Exactly a month before this, the defender turned 43 years old. Yuriy was born in the village of Vilhir, Rivne region. He studied at the Vilhir school. Later, he obtained the profession of an electric welder at a vocational school. He lived in the village of Ozhenyn, Rivne region. For over 13 years, he worked as an electric cutter at the Shepetivka station of the regional branch "Pivdenno-Zakhidna Zaliznytsia" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia". From the first days of the full-scale invasion, the man without hesitation took up the defense of his state, voluntarily joining the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 53rd separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. He held the position of BMP-1 gunner. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended the hottest spots of the Donetsk region: Vuhledar, Bakhmut, Avdiivka. "He was devoted to his country, so without hesitation he took up the defense of Ukraine and our people. Despite the deferment he had, he went to the military enlistment office himself. He said that men of his age, and not young boys who have not yet seen life, should be on the front," said the deceased's daughter Anna. The warrior was buried in the village of Kolesnyky, Rivne region. Yuriy is survived by his mother, sister, wife and three daughters.
