- Soldier Yuriy Pchela was killed on April 14, 2023 in a battle with the enemy in the area of the settlement of Dibrova in the Luhansk region. The life of the defender was cut short by an enemy bullet. Two weeks earlier, on March 31, he turned 36 years old. Yuriy was born in the city of Luhansk. He studied at school No. 8. In 2008, he graduated from the East Ukrainian National University named after Volodymyr Dahl with a degree in "Economics and Enterprise". When the Russian-Ukrainian war began in 2014, he moved to Kyiv. He worked as a freelancer. On February 25, 2022, the man joined the ranks of volunteers and began defending his homeland. He served in the assault company of the 126th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended his native eastern direction and above all sought to liberate it from the Russian occupiers. "Yura was purposeful and courageous, despite everything, he went to his goal. He managed to be a loving and tender husband, a caring father, a good son and the most sincere friend. He always valued his family. The best are taken by the heavens. We are very grateful to you for you, Yura. You gave very much to each of us. You were always a Hero, always a leader. And you will remain so forever in our hearts. Forever in my heart, my beloved," wrote the wife of the fallen Krystyna. Yuriy was buried at the Forest Cemetery in Kyiv.
