Yurii V. Tarasenko

Yuriy Volodymyrovich Tarasenko was born on February 9, 1973 in the Chernihiv region. After serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and receiving the military rank of major, he was discharged. With the beginning of the full-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, he went as a volunteer to defend his city. He served in the 21st separate motorized infantry battalion "Sarmat" of the 56th separate motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of commander of the rifle company. He engaged in his first battle, defending the village of Lukashivka in the Chernihiv region. Then there were battles for Kolychivtsi, Novosilka, and the outskirts of Chernihiv. He was killed on March 9, 2022 near the village of Lukashivka. Yuriy Tarasenko's body could not be buried for a long time due to the occupation of the Chernihiv region. Then the identification of the body of the fallen soldier took a long time. The farewell to the fallen serviceman took place on April 18, 2022 in the city of Chernihiv.
