Yurii V. Ukrainets (Ukrainets)

Junior Sergeant Yurii Ukrainets died on October 10, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the Donetsk region. He sustained multiple shrapnel wounds in the Avdiivka direction. Yurii was 26 years old. He was born in the Vinnytsia region in a large family. After finishing school, he studied at the Kalynivka Technological College and then at the Vinnytsia National Agrarian University, specializing in Landscape Gardening. He spent a significant part of his adult life in military service, first as a conscript and then signing a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2019. During the full-scale invasion, he defended Ukraine as part of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. He was the commander of the unmanned aerial vehicle section of the reconnaissance platoon. He was awarded the "For Exemplary Service" distinction. "Yura was a good person. He never refused to help his comrades-in-arms and was dedicated to his work. He wanted a large family, but unfortunately, we didn't have time to start one," his wife Lidiia said. The defender was buried in the town of Kalynivka in the Vinnytsia region. Yurii is survived by his wife, parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
