- Zilinsky Yuriy Volodymyrovych was born on May 6, 1982, in the city of Radekhiv, Lviv region. In August 2022, Senior Soldier Yuriy Zilinsky was called up for military service in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine as part of mobilization and bravely took up the defense of his homeland. Since December 2022, Yuriy Zilinsky actively participated in repelling the armed aggression of the Russian Federation in the territory of Donetsk region. The serviceman courageously carried out all fire missions. Despite daily artillery shelling from the enemy, he actively contributed to the engineering and technical arrangement of positions, fortifications, and bunkers. Yuriy Zilinsky was carrying out a combat mission to defend the enterprise "Mine 5," maintaining fire control over the railway tracks adjacent to his territory. On the night of January 8 to 9, 2023, the enemy launched an offensive. Supported by artillery and mortar fire, they attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the area of the city of Soledar in Donetsk region. Despite the massive enemy shelling and numerous enemy forces, Yuriy Zilinsky, together with his comrades, bravely held the defense of the designated lines. After prolonged fierce battles, the unit was forced to retreat to other positions. However, the enemy did not stop the intense shelling, as a result of which Senior Soldier Zilinsky sustained shrapnel wounds that were incompatible with life. For personal courage and selfless actions demonstrated in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to military oath, Senior Soldier Yuriy Volodymyrovych Zilinsky was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.Memory Book of the MIA System
