Soldier Yuriy Bashuk (call sign Kipish) was killed on July 21, 2024 near the village of Nevske, Luhansk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he suffered a fatal explosive injury. The defender was 38 years old. The warrior was born in the city of Berdychiv, lived in the village of Denyshi, Zhytomyr region. He obtained the profession of plasterer, tiler, painter in the vocational school No. 5 in Zhytomyr. This is how he earned a living. He defended the country in the ranks of the 112th separate brigade of territorial defense. He held the position of a rifleman of the 2nd rifle squad of the 1st rifle platoon of the 2nd rifle company. "He was an ordinary person without military training. While on duty, he never refused his comrades-in-arms and always helped when they needed help," said his daughter Kateryna. The defender was buried in the village of Denyshi, Zhytomyr region. Yuriy left behind a wife and four children. The warrior was posthumously awarded the decoration of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine "Cross of Valor".
