- Senior Sergeant Yuriy Dedushev (call sign Ded) was killed on September 30, 2023 near the village of Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhia region. While carrying out another combat mission, he came under enemy fire and received fatal injuries. The warrior was 28 years old. Yuriy was from the village of Yuriivka, Zaporizhia region. He graduated from the local school and decided not to continue his studies, but to join the army. In 2013-2015, he served in military unit 3029 of the National Guard of Ukraine. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. After being discharged, he got married. He was engaged in agriculture, as well as hunting and beekeeping. In 2022, having left his native village, which ended up under occupation, and making sure that his family was safe, Yuriy returned to the ranks of the National Guard. He served in the 15th Brigade of Operational Designation named after the Hero of Ukraine, Lieutenant Bohdan Zavada. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he fought in the Zaporizhia direction. "It is important to me that as many people as possible learn about the feat of my husband... He was a true patriot. He taught the whole family to love this country as he loved it. No matter how tired he was of the war, he always said: 'I will rest when it is over.' Yura gave the most precious thing he had - his life. They took the most precious thing from us - him. We must understand that we all walk on this earth and live thanks to him..." said the wife of the fallen, Oleksandra Samsonenko. The National Guard soldier was buried in the St. Nicholas cemetery in Zaporizhia. Yuriy is survived by his wife, two sons, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
