- 21-year-old soldier Yurii Ivanytskyi (call sign Titan) was killed on February 3, 2023 near the city of Vuhledar in Donetsk region. His group came under enemy artillery fire while carrying out a combat mission. The warrior sustained fatal injuries. The defender was born in the city of Novomyrhorod, Kirovohrad region. He graduated from school No. 1, and later obtained the profession of a welder at the Central Ukrainian Higher Vocational School. He was engaged in Greco-Roman wrestling, athletics, and basketball. He worked as a roofer and mountaineer in construction. He also traveled to Poland for work. Yurii has been serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since January 30, 2022. He met the full-scale invasion as part of the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade, which was stationed in Donetsk region at the time. Yurii was a machine gunner in the 21st Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion "Sarmat". He participated in the defense of the village of Pisky in Donetsk region, where he was seriously wounded. After treatment, he returned to the front line. In November 2022, Yurii received the medal "For the Defense of Volnovakha". His comrades-in-arms remember him as a very reliable and resilient person, which is why he received his call sign. Yurii was considered missing in action. His family searched for him for a year and two months. The defender was buried on April 21, 2024 in the Alley of Glory of the Zlatopil cemetery in Novomyrhorod.
