Yurii Yu. Ostroverkhov (Borzyi)

Serviceman Yuriy Ostroverkh (call sign Borzyi) was killed on February 12, 2024 near the city of Avdiivka, Donetsk region. While covering his comrades during the withdrawal, he received fatal injuries as a result of enemy shelling. Exactly a month later, the warrior would have turned 28 years old. Yuriy was born in the village of Novohryhorivka, Kherson region. He lived in the village of Pishchatyntsi in the Ternopil region. After completing his secondary education, he immediately went to work. He tried himself in various fields of activity. He was passionate about cars and weapons. Since 2014, his greatest desire was to go to war. However, due to his health condition, he was not fit for service. The full-scale war helped him fulfill his dream. After the invaders' invasion on February 24, 2022, Yuriy joined the ranks of the defenders. He served in the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of senior rifleman - operator of the assault unit. He received the award "For Courage and Dedication." "I still wait for at least an SMS from him, something.
